Nokia C2 Dual Sim (C2-01)

Nokia C2 Dual Sim
Nokia C2 Dual Sim (C2-01)
The Nokia C2 Dual Sim C2-01 is definitely an old-style traditional phone with a small screen and an alphanumeric keypad. It is a phone that's never heard of the actual iPhone and thinks that Tony Blair continues to be Prime Minister. There's nothing special concerning the phone at all. Yes, it can make calls and sends texts. Yes, it's good battery life. Yes, it even includes a camera, mp3 player and FM radio saved. It will even access your myspace account and play youtube videos for those who have a magnifying glass to watch all of them on its miniature screen. But every single phone available on the market does that too.
Nokia C2 Dual Sim

Nokia is hell-bent on dominating the budget end from the phone market. The Finnish firm is well aware that we now have millions of people out there who crave simply simple features in a phone. The Nokia C2 Dual Sim C2-01 is targeted at such folk.

Nokia C2 Dual Sim
Nokia C2 Dual Sim (C2-01)
The Nokia C2 Dual Sim C2-01 won't challenge the dual-core smart-phone monsters which are currently being unleashed by the kind of Samsung and LG but, in terms of affordable, it's one of the best phones we've seen this season. It's astonishing what your £50 can get you. If you're looking for more features than bargain-basement phones such as the Nokia 1616 and LG GS101 can offer, but don't want to break the financial institution, the Nokia C2 Dual Sim C2-01 is an excellent choice.

Nokia Lumia 800 Demo: easyHeartRate Measures Heart Rate with the Camera

Easy Heart Rate is a cool Windows Phone app I’ve been showing off to friends. It measures your heart rate using your phone’s camera. How is that even possible? You just need to press a button and cover the camera lens with your fingertip. Watch my demo with the Nokia Lumia 800 to see how it works.

You can also watch this video in HD on Youtube. Subscribe to the channel to preview the latest videos before they get published on the blog.
A closer look at the monitor shows that our fingertip pulsates and changes color against the camera lens. I’m assuming the easyHeartRate uses that data for the measurement.
I’ve never seen anything like this before. The idea behind the application is unique, but I think the user interface needs some improvement. easyHeartRate is 99 cents at the Marketplace, but also comes with a free trial.
Check it out and let us know what you think. Is there anything like this on the iPhone or Android?

Nokia Lumia 800 Demo of Skyscanner. Flight Deals Search for Windows Phone

Here’s another awesome application for the Nokia Lumia 800 and other Windows Phone devices. Skyscanner allows users to search millions of routes on over 1000 airlines to find the cheapest flights. The app also lets users track prices of selected flights with the Live Tile. You pin flights to the start screen and the prices automatically update every hour. Video demo after the jump.

You can also watch this video in HD on Youtube. Subscribe to the channel to preview the latest videos before they get published on the blog.
Skyscanner was released at the Windows Phone Marketplace earlier this month. The free app has already been downloaded 5 million times across iPhone and Android devices. I love the user interface and its options. It works fast, too.
Download Skyscanner and let us know what you think.

Samsung Omnia Taxi follows the Nokia Lumia Taxi

Nokia has been crazily promoting it’s Lumia handsets in India under the Amazing Everyday banner and I’m sure none of you might have missed the news (Even my mom knows about it !). Nokia launched the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 in India. Nokia had offered Taxi rides and much more to early adopters and now looks like Samsung is following Nokia’s footsteps with the launch of it’s Omnia W Smartphone in the country. Watch the Samsung  Omnia Taxi after the break and Nokia Lumia Taxi in action.
Samsung seems to have parked Samsung Omnia Taxis outside Nokia stores in an attempt to woo consumers. The Windows Phone battle has just begun in India !
Thanks Shivansh for the tip !

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7. 5 Mango

Nokia Lumia 800

In spite of some talk that Nokia would be permitted to modify the Windows Phone user interface, the Lumia 800 uses a totally unmodified interface. It’s fine around, but there's nothing to differentiate it in the competition. A push on the actual unlock button reveals the locking mechanism screen, which displays the present time and date and exhibits calendar events, emails and skipped calls.
Nokia Lumia 800

Swiping the lockscreen up unlocks these devices and reveals the live-tile Metro interface. It's a very fluid up and down grid of Live tiles that shows a couple of tiles organized in bricked design. Each of these can be reorganized through which ever order you like and you will place almost anything in the actual grid by holding your hand over it and selecting the Pin to begin option.
Nokia Lumia 800

It’s a clean as well as simple interface. The Live tiles show stuff like the current date, pending calendar occasions, missed calls, unread emails and much more, all without the need to open up the respective applications. You can take a look at them as homescreen widgets associated with sorts. But that’s oversimplifying all of them.
Nokia Lumia 800
In Windows Phone Mango the actual Live tiles are quicker and gives more info. For example, the Pictures tile shows an animated slideshow of the images. The Group tile (Groups is really a Mango-only feature to boot) listings friend updates. The application list is continuing to grow a virtual Search button, making finding apps easier for individuals with many apps installed.
Nokia Lumia 800
The Lumia 800 includes 7. 5 Mango and among its advantages over the unique version is multitasking. The OPERATING SYSTEM still doesn’t do true multitasking; things are now being done the iOS way. Apps not within the foreground are suspended, but the OS has methods to take over and carry out the duty for them.

To switch between apps you press and contain the Back key (that's correct, the Back key, not the actual Windows key). The app switcher itself looks much like that of Symbian or WebOS: thumbnail snapshots from the apps, ordered chronologically left in order to right.

You can scroll the list horizontally to pick an app and a tap brings you back to exactly the way you left it. Usually, the final 5-6 apps are here. You cannot "kill" any of those applications, this is more of a brief history of the recently used applications.

Eventually, as you open much more apps, the old ones start to drop from the list. Once an app is finished, you have to launch this again the old-fashioned way, which has the drawback of starting it over right from the start. Finally, apps with active history tasks (e. g. streaming online radio) could keep on working. Multitasking can be disabled in the settings to save on electric battery life. There you'll also find a summary of all installed apps that assistance multitasking.

Opening the settings menus reveals two sets of choices - system and applications. System covers all of the settings you can think associated with like sounds, color theme, Wi-Fi, Wireless bluetooth, Accounts, etc. The Applications settings allows you to configure individual settings for each app you've installed on the device - the folks hub, Phone, Maps and much more.

Windows Phone 7. 5 could be controlled through voice only - you are able to dictate a text, have the telephone read out the reply, you can initiate searches and so forth. Other OSes are doing this too (*cough*Android*cough*) but voice commands really are a big part of iOS (along with a loudly touted one at which), so WP7. 5 can brag about this too.

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 8MP

The Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7. 5 comes with a 8MP camera with a good deal to brag about - they have a 28mm wide-angle F2. 2 lens by Carl Zeiss in addition to being we already mentioned in the hardware part of this review the sensor behind the lens is pretty clever too. It produces 8MP images with 4: 3 aspect rate or 7. 1MP photos if you need 16: 9 aspect ratio for ones shots.

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 8MP

The camera UI is pretty simple – you've got your viewfinder and some controls for the right. From top to bottom these are the still/video camera toggle, virtual zoom buttons and a prolonged settings menu. On the left you've got an arrow that takes that you the images taken with your camera, alternatively you can perform swipe gesture too.

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 8MP

The digicam app on Windows Phone gives very extensive settings, ranging via scenes and effects to bright balance, contrast, saturation, sharpness, ISO plus much more. You have a dedicated Macro concentration mode but no face prognosis. The flash can be collection to auto, forced or off of.

The camera key will wake the product with a single press – that may be unlock it and start your camera. There's an option that inhibits the shutter key from starting the camera if your proximity sensor is triggered (in order to avoid accidental launches when the phone is your pocket). This option is off automatically.

The Lumia 800 may contain the same camera module as your N9, but the new chipset features different image processing. The volume of detail is good, but there's noticeable color noise left inside photos. The noise processing inside N9 did better by eliminating large noise and not losing all the fine detail. Sill, the Lumia 900 has accurate white balance along with good color rendering. The dynamic range will be as impressive as it was for the N9.

Nokia Lumia 800 OS let's us know

You will find there's lot riding on the Nokia Lumia 900 and the Finns put a great deal of work into it - effectively, they worked for a while anyway. The final result copes with to impress, but also gives some disappointment.
Nokia Lumia 800 OS

There's not much you can say about the OS -- here all Windows Phone mobile phones are evenly matched. But which consists of three proprietary apps, Nokia manages to set the Lumia 800 in a class of a. Nokia Drive, the most valuable in the three, may not please Symbian supporters, but it's designed entirely inside spirit of Windows Phone - easy to navigate, with clean, readable labels which have been free of distractions (all positives when speaking about SatNav apps).

The camera has a good amount of potential too - as it can be, it's one of the best shooters inside Windows Phone world and contains the potential to get even better which has a software update that clears up several of its issues (like your overly eager continuous autofocus).

Your curvy polycarbonate shell and Gorilla Wine glass with smooth, beveled edges give you a huge boost to the Lumia 800's desirability way too. The display is pretty wonderful too, though the somewhat low brightness levels were form of a disappointment. Still, it's superior to most WP phones out generally there.

During this review, we were constantly talking about the Nokia N9 - is actually good reason. It shares inside great features of the Lumia 800 and does superior to it in some respects. But which has a niche OS and intentionally high asking price, mainstream acceptance will probably always remain beyond its reach.

For comparison’s cause, the Samsung Omnia W is often a similar Windows Phone. It incorporates a SuperAMOLED screen that's a match to the Lumia's. The phone is thin too, though it uses regular plastic and metal due to the build (not necessarily undesirable, but it's ordinary). What's more, it loses points on the lower-res digicam (5MP), smaller storage (8GB) and best of all - no free SatNav. There are navigation apps for WP already in the market, so that can be settled (unlike the fixed volume of storage). But on the opposite hand, its SIM-free price is actually half of the Lumia’s.

The HTC Titan forgoes AMOLED along with instead equips itself with most significant screens on a mobile mobile phone. It goes heavy on the metal and light for the plastic too. But if you like AMOLEDs so you don’t really care if you may be using a mainstream OS as well as not, then maybe the Samsung S8600 Wave III has that to make available along with an attractive material build.

If you're looking with the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7. 5, then you've almost certainly decided against an iPhone as well as an Android smartphone. You want in on Windows Phone that is certainly that - and the 800 is a superb entry point. The OS features matured, the Marketplace has grown along with Nokia demonstrates its know-how throughout phone design and services by it.

The Nokia Lumia 800 will sell well - they have already risen to the top spots in popularity for a lot of carriers. It will boost Nokia's market place shares and Windows Phone's shares too - but it’s likely it won't dethrone the market leaders. The bigger question is, could it save Nokia from their using platform? It's too soon to see.
